Artwork Specifications

This is a one page quick overview for the general specifications. Please contact Joe at for further specifics.

We highly recommend that you print any electronic artwork and check the quality prior to sending artwork. We will not be responsible for unsatisfactory results caused by poor artwork quality. All colors specified should be PMS colors. Extra charge for grays.

How To Send Art:

 Color Palette:
Use CMYK mode and CMYK color palettes for process color jobs. Do not use RGB preview modes or palettes. Our RIP converts RBG files to CMYK with unpredictable results.

 Spot Colors:
If your file is intended to print in spot colors (Pantone PMS inks) then leave the spot colors active. For offset process color or digital printing, please convert all Pantone spot colors or RGB colors to CMYK. If your file will print digitally, please note that digital presses cannot process PMS colors.

Supplying Artwork: We use Adobe CS4, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator 10, and Acrobat 5, 8, and 9. Be sure to include all fonts and graphics used for your preparation. We are a Windows-Based company. We use True-Type and Microsoft Fonts. We are unable to open MAC disks. All files sent as an attachment need to be in a windows format.

Gripper Margin: Letterheads must have a 3/8" gripper along 8 1/2" end for 1-2 color printing,  3/8" gripper along 11" side for 3-4 color printing. Envelopes do not need a gripper margin for 1-2 colors. However, envelopes do need 3/8” gripper margin on the long side (i.e. 9 ½ “ side on a #10)  for 3-4 color work.  All bleeds must be included in the file in order for the job to bleed. The bleed must extend at least 1/8" past the edge of the envelope or letterhead on all sides that bleed, except on the gripper edge. Borders, large solids or screens may cause offsetting.  Credits or reprints will not be given due to offsetting.

Uploading Artwork: Before we can process your order, we require you to sign a proof, to make sure that what you see is what you will get. Send all EPS files as vector artwork. Convert all text to outlines.
